Preparatory Research Project for the Prevention of Honour Crimes (2007)
Our aim is to conduct a study of the familial and social context through which honour serves to control women as well as the means that women use today to counter this control. The study will aim to identify the existing structures that empower women and will seek to devise ways in which these structures can be further developed and enhanced. It is hoped that this research will help determine the scope of such crimes, as well as explore and examine the existing familial, social and state resources that can be mobilized to prevent them.
